Join us for a weekend of music, reconnecting, and great food at the 2026 WT Band Alumni Reunion.
Friday, June 12
5:00pm - The reunion begins with a casual meet-and-greet at the Cody & Starrla Myers residence (6100 Quail Springs Trail, Amarillo, TX 79119, west of Amarillo). The evening will include dinner featuring Cody’s famous ribs and sausage.
7:00pm - BBQ Dinner (Ribs & Sausage with sides and dessert)
Saturday, June 13
9:00-11:00am - First Alumni Band Rehearsal in Northen 1010 (band room)
11:30am - Registration for lunch in Legacy Hall
Noon - Mexican Fiesta Lunch in WTAMU Legacy Hall (JBK Student Center, 200 Victory Circle, Canyon, Texas, 79015)
2:00-3:30pm - Second Alumni Band Rehearsal in Northen 1010
4:30pm - Warm-up on the stage of Mary Moody Northen Hall
5:00pm - Concert in Mary Moody Northen Hall
7:00pm - Fireside Herbed Steak & Chicken Dinner at the Fairly Group Club Room (2403 Russell Long Blvd, Canyon, TX 79016, on the west side of the stadium)
WT Alumni Band Concert Highlights
Dr. Garner is planning to program a movement from Cantata for Band by Norman J. Nelson in honor of the late Don Baird. In addition, Allan Hanna has commissioned a new composition by Gabe Musella to celebrate and honor Dr. Garner’s lasting legacy.
We will also recognize the distinguished career of WTAMU’s clarinet professor, Mr. Doug Storey, who is retiring after 38 years of dedicated service to the university. In tribute to his remarkable impact, the ensemble will perform Clarinet Candy by Leroy Anderson. We hope that many of Mr. Storey’s former students will be able to join us for this special occasion as we celebrate his legacy and contributions.
